Victims of the robodebt scheme have embraced Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's announcement today of a royal commission into the scandal.
Queensland mother Kath Madgwick lost her only child, son Jarrad to suicide.
Madgwick said she was "delighted" to hear news of the royal commission today, adding that she hoped it would bring closure for herself and others who had lost their closest loved ones.

Police have charged two men with the alleged murder of Andrew Christopher Walsh, whose body was found buried in concrete at a Queensland transport depot.
Walsh was discovered during forensic investigations at the Coopers Plains business, where police were searching for another missing man, Queenslander Lachlan Griffiths.
Detective Inspector Damien Hansen said both men, and the two men charged today were connected to the depot.
