Port Adelaide is understood to have made an “aggressive” offer for the West Coast Eagles premiership forward.
Rioli, who is out of contract and weighing up his options amid interest from around the AFL, kicked 14 goals in 13 games for West Coast this year upon his return from a doping ban that wiped out his 2020 and 2021 seasons.
The Eagles have expressed confidence in their ability to re-sign Rioli – who last extended his deal in 2019, prior to his suspension.
Contract talks, however, were put on hold following the recent death of his father and subsequent time away from the club.

Sydney Swans Coach John Longmire’s made the call despite the fact Lance Franklin is yet to re-sign with the Bloods and put contract talks on hold amid rumours that he could finish his career elsewhere.

”We think that the way Lance has been playing has been really good and he’s absolutely invested in how we’re going and loves playing at this time of the year.
”It’s what he really loves doing so it’s great that he’ll be enjoying the moment at the MCG in front of a huge crowd.
”He plays against a high-quality All-Australian defender this week (Steven May) and those two players didn’t play last time (in round 12).
”They get an opportunity to go at it again this week and I’m sure it will be a great contest.”
Coles and Woolworths shoppers have gone wild with news the supermarkets are now selling “Sizzler cheese toast” for $6 a pack.
Sharing on TikTok, user Dannii Rodgers revealed how La Famiglia Cheesy Pan Bread is the “perfect dupe” for the iconic snack at the much-missed Sizzler restaurant chain.
With most Sizzler restaurants around Australia now closed, many fans miss the popular menu item which became a hit in the 1990s – leading to the frenzy over the supermarket buy.
But other cheese toast fans have pointed out a simple recipe which means people can whip up a DIY version for a fraction of the price.
